Director: Athletic Training Education Program - Towson University.

Dr. Higgins is the Director of the Athletic Training Education Program at
Towson University. Prior to this he worked at the University of Delaware as an
Associate Athletic Trainer and Assistant professor in the Department of Health
and Exercise Science.

He has over 18 years of experience working with athletes of all ages and skill levels. Dr. Higgins spent 7 seasons as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Delaware Men's lacrosse and men's basketball teams. He has spoken regionally and nationally on core stability and training techniques to prevent injury and increase performance.

His comprehensive training programs are designed using scientific and proven training methodologies to progressively develop an athlete and help reduce the risk of injury while improving performance over the course of an athlete's career. It is his goal to promote and create an atmosphere that is conducive to the mental and physical development of each student/athlete that he trains.


 

STEVE DiMARIO, CPT

Steve is a certified personal trainer with the American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA). He has completed the Foundations for the Health and Fitness Professional Course, sponsored by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and attended the American Council on Exercise (ACE)

Partner assisted stretch workshop. Steve focuses on a full body workout utilizing ones own body weight to tone and enhance muscle endurance. He also helps develop initial fitness programs for our members and teaches fitness classes.

Speed Mechanics Training  

Improving speed mechanics and sprinting techniques is first done with an evaluation.  This private evaluation includes a digital video analysis of the athletes current technique.  This perspective gives the athlete the visual cues they need to help improve on inefficient techniques and reinforce the positives. Personally specific drills will be worked to help create muscle memory. Then  the athlete will be videoed a second time with all the components of speed put back into a culminating speed drill. Review of both sets of video, for immediate feed-back, is done on a 80 inch digital viewing screen.  This allows the athlete, parents, and coach the clear view of the success of the techniques and what is still to come with follow up sessions, "home work drills", and strength training. A copy of the video is available upon request. This approximately 75 minute session is $100

Elementary Age Training is available upon request. A teacher's approach to the elementary age can help your young athlete transform difficult running styles, clumsiness, and or lack of attention, to an increase in confidence, attentive ready position, and confidence.

 


Private One- On- One

Sessions are 60- 75 minutes in length.

Private Team Training

  • Sessions are 60-70 minutes in length
  • Please call ahead to schedule an appointment
  • All appointments must be paid in advance
  • Must be contracted with team Coach
